Check cutting tools before each use in order to:
• ensure shredding quality.
• guarantee safety in use.
• avoid risk of damaging the fixing elements.
Replace cutting tools in the following cases:
- Damaged cutting tools:
• Very uneven ground can cause the knives to crack
or warp.
- Important wear.
Universal knives
- The length (L1) of the universal knives must exceed
150 mm (5.90’’).
- Ovalisation of the mounting hole L2 must not exceed
27 mm (1.06’’).
Hammer knives
- The cutting tool length L1 must exceed
150 mm (5.90’’).
- Ovalisation of the mounting hole L2 must not exceed
27 mm (1.06’’).
Fixing elements
Check the condition of the fixing elements regularly and
also the torque of the knife-fixing bolt.
• Torque: 25 daN m (185 lbf ft).
Check the fixing elements:
• After hitting an obstacle.
• When knives are replaced.
• At the start of each season.
The fixing bolts should be changed in the following
cases:
• When there is visible warping.
• When the thread is damaged or worn.
• When a groove (H) of over 2 mm (0.08’’) has
developed.
