Introduction
Hazard control and accident prevention are dependent
upon the awareness, concern, prudence, and proper
training involved in the operation, transport, storage, and
maintenance of the Snow Blower. Therefore, it is
absolutely essential that no one operates the Snow
Blower without first having read, fully understood, and
become totally familiar with the Operator’s Manual. Make
sure the operator has paid particular attention to:

The following inspection should be performed before
using the Snow Blower.
General Safety Information

DANGER
To prevent serious injury or death:
•
Allow only persons to operate this attachment who have
fully read and comprehended this manual, who have been
properly trained in the safe operation of this attachment,
and who are age 16 or older. Serious injury or death can
result from the failure to read, understand, and follow
instructions provided in this manual.
•
All guards and shields must be installed and in good
working condition while operating attachment to avoid
injury or death.
•
Always follow “Tractor Shutdown and Storage” or “Skid
Steer Shutdown and Storage” on page 1 before leaving the
operator’s seat.

Check Snow Blower initially and periodically for loose

It is recommended that under most applications to operate
only power machines equipped with a certified Roll-Over
Protective Structure (ROPS) and seat belt. Keep folding
ROPS in the “locked up” position when appropriate. If the
ROPS is in the locked up position, fasten seat belt snugly
and securely to help protect against serious injury or death
from falling and machine overturn.
•
Keep bystanders and animals away from machinery while
in operation. They can become entangled in the equipment,
hit by throwing objects, or ran over.
•
Make certain the attachment is resting on the ground and
all hydraulic pressure is relieved before disconnecting
hydraulic fittings from the power machine.
•
Always operate Snow Blower with skid steer/tractor
flashing lights turned on. Be extremely careful blowing
snow at night with rear bright lights on. Approaching traffic
from either direction can mistake which traffic lane you are
traveling in and your direction of travel.
•
Always secure equipment with solid supports before
working under it. Never work under equipment supported
by concrete blocks or hydraulics. Concrete blocks can
break, hydraulic lines can burst, and/or hydraulic controls
can be actuated even when power to hydraulics is off.
•
Do not travel across inclines where the equipment could
slip or roll-over. Consult your power machine Operator’s
Manual for acceptable inclines they are capable of
crossing.
•
Hydraulic fluid under high pressure will penetrate skin.
Wear protective gloves and safety glasses or goggles when
working with hydraulic systems. Use a piece of cardboard
or wood rather than hands when searching for leaks. If
hydraulic fluid is injected into the skin or eyes, it must be
treated by a doctor familiar with this type of injury within a
few hours or gangrene may result. DO NOT DELAY.
•
Never make contact with underground utilities such as
electrical power lines, gas lines, phone lines, etc. They can
cause serious injury or death from electrocution, explosion,
or fire. If in doubt, call your local utility companies before
digging so that they can mark the location of underground
services in the area. For contact information, see Dig Safe
in the “Important Safety Information” starting on page 1.
•
Always shut down hydraulics and wait for all rotating
components to stop moving before cleaning out a plugged
chute. The impeller blades are located just below the chute
and will nip off body extremities and cause serious injuries
or death even when using a stick or other object to unplug
the chute.
•
Always shut down hydraulics and wait for all rotating
components to stop moving before unclogging built-up snow
in the auger or impeller, making adjustments, performing
maintenance, or cleaning the Snow Blower. Rotating
impeller, auger, and chain drive can cause serious bodily
injury or death.
•
Never carry riders on the attachment, skid steer/tractor
unless the tractor is equipped with a passenger seat for the
rider to sit in. Follow manufacturer's recommendations
when using the passenger seat. Except for the passenger
