Adjusting the spring pretension of the shock absorber
Caution
Risk of injury
Parts of the shock absorber will fly off if the shock absorber is disassembled incorrectly.
The shock absorber is filled with highly compressed nitrogen.

Before changing the spring pretension, make a note of the present setting, e.g., by measuring the length
of the spring.
Preparatory work

Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand. (
–
Remove the shock absorber.
–
After removing the shock absorber, clean it thoroughly.

Main work

Loosen screw

Turn adjusting ring

until the spring is no longer under ten-
sion.
Hook wrench (90129051000)
–
Measure the overall spring length while the spring is not under
tension.
–
Tighten the spring by turning adjusting ring
2
