11.5 Positioning the fork protector

Position the fork protector on the left fork leg. Mount and tighten screws  .
Guideline
Remaining screws, chassis M6 10 Nm (7.4 lbf ft)

Position the brake line and wiring harness. Put the clamp on, and mount and tighten
screws

Position the fork protector on the right fork leg. Mount and tighten screws  .
Guideline
Remaining screws, chassis M6 10 Nm (7.4 lbf ft)
11.6 Checking the steering head bearing play
Warning
Danger of accidents Unstable vehicle handling from incorrect steering head bearing play.

Adjust the steering head bearing play without delay. (Your authorized KTM workshop will be glad to help.)

If the bike is ridden with play in the steering head bearing, the bearing and the bearing seats in the frame can become damaged
over time.
Preparatory work
