Note for Ex devices
Bypass magnetic switches with ignition protection type Ex
i may only be connected to certified intrinsically safe cir-
cuits in the Ex area of Zone 1. While doing so the maximum
operating data of the switch must be observed.
The national provisions for installation of intrinsically safe
control circuits must be observed. (see 9.1 Switching ca-
pacities / Electrical values)
The interior capacity and inductivity of the cables used with
regard to the downstream intrinsically safe control device
must be observed.
Only cable entries and sealing plugs with an EC type ex-
amination certificate pursuant to EN 60079-0, EN 60079-7
may be used. They must be certified for at least the same
temperature range and IP protection as the magnetic
switch. Furthermore, it is important to ensure that the
thread size and thread version complies with the respec-
tive device model of the housing and that the screws are
suitable for the connection cable used. The use of single
strands is not permitted! In the event of non-compliance
the type approval expires.
All unnecessary openings for feeding cables must be per-
manently sealed with appropriate sealing elements verified
for explosion protection in accordance with EN 60079-7 for
Group IIC, or EN 60079-31 for Group IIIC.
