Removing a pump set with large installation depth
✓
All contact guards have been removed.
✓
The connecting coupling has been dismantled.
✓
The thrust bearing has been dismantled.
✓
The mechanical seal has been dismantled.
✓
Suitably dimensioned hoisting tackle is available.
1. Suspend and secure distributor casing 10-1 using suitable hoisting tackle.
2. Pull the pump far enough out of the can by means of distributor casing 10-1.
3. Attach a pipe clamp approximately 50 cm beneath the next column pipe joint.
4. Fasten the pipe clamp and lower the pump again until the pipe clamp rests on
the top of the can.
5. Unscrew the pipe joint connecting the lengths of the column pipe main. Lift the
distributor casing and the upper length of column pipe main 711.1 off the drive
shaft.
6. Slacken the intermediate shaft conical coupling and remove drive shaft 213,
using a puller (see Fig. 21).
7. Force off the complete intermediate shaft bearing and pull it off the shaft.
8. Examine the bearing and shaft for signs of galling (seizure).
9. If necessary, raise the pump by a further length of the column pipe main, fit
another pipe clamp and lower the pump until the pipe clamp rests on the can.
10. Then dismantle the length of the column pipe main and the bearing.
11. Lift the pump body out of the can, place it down and support it in the horizontal
position. Secure it against rolling off or tipping over.
