When replacing the steam pipe, ensure the
rubber rings are properly seated
(24).
For a thorough cleaning, the frothing aid
can be taken apart by pulling parts
A and C
from the metal tube B (25). Wash all 3 parts
in warm water. Should the small suction
orifice in part A be blocked, it can be pierced
with a needle.
The capsule cage can be removed for
thorough cleaning. To do this, first pull out
the mains plug. Then remove the water
container and the drip tray with cup grid.
Now stand the machine up-side down (26).
Put the capsule cage key on the capsule
holder (27).
Then remove the capsule cage by screwing
it off in an anti-clockwise direction with the
capsule holder and the capsule cage key
(28).
Wash out the capsule cage with fresh water.
Clean both holes on the nozzle of the
capsule cage with the help of the nozzle
cleaner (29).
Be careful when using the nozzle cleaner, as
injury can occur if it is not used properly.
Blow in the direction of the arrow (upwards)
into the capsule cage, so as to free the two
holes from any impurity (30).
Clean the water in-gress of the capsule cage
with the help of the drill on the end of the
nozzle cleaner (31).
Carry out the foregoing cleaning operation a
second time.
After cleaning put the capsule cage into the
capsule cage key. Make sure that the parts
A, B and C are assembled as shown in the
diagram (32).
Now screw the capsule cage key, together
with the inserted capsule cage, by hand
back into the appliance (not too tightly and
do
not use the capsule holder to do it) (33).
For the optimum functioning of the
appliance and for the best quality of

scale from your Nespresso System coffee
machine regulary, and at least every 6
months. The frequency will depend upon
the nature of the water supply in your area.
For further details, please get in touch with
your Nespresso Club, who have developed
a special descaling set for you.
Included in thid set are 1 capsule cage key
and 1 nozzle cleaner, both of which you
should always use when carrying out the
descaling operation.
Note!
Do not use vinegar or any proprietary
decalcifier.
