Do not use the appliance if either the
mains flex or the appliance itself is
damaged.

Observe the instructions for descaling.

The appliance cannot be opened. In case
of damage, send it to the KRUPS
customer service centre.

If the mains flex should become
damaged, it should be replaced only by
the KRUPS customer service centre, as
special tools are required to undertake
the repair.

coffee capsules, please get in touch with
your Nespresso-Club.
Raise the water container cover and remove
the water container (1).
Fill the container with fresh water (2).
Maximum capacity is
1.8 l = about 30 espresso cups.
Return the water container and press firmly
into position, so that the base valve opens (3).
Close the cover again.
In order to achieve good coffee results, you
should observe the following points:
■
Fill the water container with fresh water
each time you use the appliance.
■
Change the water every day.
■
Do not use mineral water or distilled
water.
■
Clean the containerat least once a week.
Plug in at the mains.
Insert the empty capsule holder into the re-
taining ring, whereby the handle of the cap-
sule holder must point about 90° to the left.
Now tighten up by pulling the handle firmly
to the right (4).
Place the largest convenient receptacle
under the capsule holder and another one
under the swivel nozzle for steam and hot
water (5).
Turn the rotary valve to the

position (6).
Press the ON/OFF key
, whereupon the
red operation control lamp will start to blink
and alle the green control lamps will glow
steadily (7).
As soon as the red control lamp also glows
standily, the appliance is ready to be used
(8).
By perssing the key
, the water will run
through through the whole system (9).
Repeat this operation five times.
Press the
and turn the rotary valve to
the
position (10). Allow about half a litre
of water to run through and then turn the
rotary valve to the

position.
