PREPARING A MILKY DRINK
Hints
&
Tips
To make frothy milk, you should opt for pasteurised UHT milk from the fridge (3-
5°
C). The use of special milks (micro
filtered, raw, fermented, enriched) or plant milks (rice, oat or almond) can give results that are less satisfactory in terms
of the quality and quantity of froth. Once the milk bottle is open, whether plastic or glass, it must be stored in a
refrigerator at
4°
C or below. Milk can usually be stored for between
5
and 7 days.
When making a milk froth again, stop the frothing when your cup is filled to 2/3 to leave enough space for the coffee.
HOW TO START PREPARING A MILKY DRINK
Connect the milk pipe to the right side of the milk attachment.
Immerse the other end of the tube (slanted side) in a container filled with milk or directly in your milk bottle.
Place the cup under the attachment
'
s milk outlet nozzle.
Press the STEAM button.
Press START.
The frothed milk will be poured straight into your cup.
When you are happy with the amount of frothy milk, press STOP.
For more information, see chapter 6 of the quick start guide, "PREPARING A MILKY DRINK" at the beginning of
the manual
Important: At the end of each recipe, we recommend that you perform a semi-automatic rinsing of the
accessory to ensure maximum hygiene and the proper functioning of your milk system. See
chapter 7.A. of the quick start guide "QUICK RINSING OF THE MILK FROTHING ATTACHMENT".
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Carrying out proper maintenance will prolong the life of your machine and preserve the authentic taste of your coffee. For
hygiene reasons, we recommend that you rinse the coffee machine every day or when it has not been used for a while (more
than 2 days). Refer to the OTHER FUNCTIONS chapter.
MAINTAINING THE MILK SYSTEM
HOW AND WHY TO MAINTAIN THE MILK SYSTEM AFTER MAKING MILKY DRINKS.
Important: In order to obtain identical froth each time, we recommend that you carry out the milk rinsing
and rinse the tube after each milky drink. For reasons of hygiene and in order to obtain identical
froth each time, we recommend that you replace the milk hose approximately every three months.

1. Semi-automatic rinsing of the accessory (30s/after each milky drink or cycle of several milky drinks)
This rinsing is necessary after each milky drink made. It involves automatically cleaning the milk frothing accessory with hot
water.
For this process, place a container under the milk frothing accessory and rinse the milk tube in a sink with hot water.
Press the HOT WATER button, select the drink volume . The light under the HOT WATER button will then be fading
in and out. When it blinks the water will automatically be poured into the container placed under the accessory. See
chapter 7.A. "QUICK RINSING OF THE MILK FROTHING ATTACHMENT" in the quick start guide.
2. Daily manual rinsing of the accessory (60s/daily or at the end of the a day during which you have made milky drinks)
For hygiene reasons and to ensure that the milk system continues to work well, we recommend that you clean the whole
milk system manually every day.
The accessory is removable to allow for thorough cleaning. Wash accessory G with parts G1 , G2, G3 and the milk pipe
H with a little non-abrasive washing-up liquid using a brush and the orange needle provided with the accessory. See
chapter 7.B. "DAILY CLEANING OF THE MILK FROTHING ATTACHMENT" in the quick start guide.
MAINTENANCE OF THE COFFEE GROUNDS CONTAINER AND DRIP TRAY
The drip tray allows you to collect the water or the coffee that
fl
ows from the appliance during and after preparations. It is
important to always leave it in place and to empty and clean it every day. The two orange
fl
oats in the drip tray tell you when
it is time to empty the water out of the container.
WHEN TO EMPTY AND CLEAN THE DRIP TRAY
SEE CHAPTER 11 OF THE QUICK START GUIDE "CLEANING THE DRIP TRAY" figs 1 to 4.
For hygiene reasons, as this tray is in contact with milk and coffee, we advise you to disassemble and clean each part with
a sponge in warm soapy water every day and when the
fl
oats are in the upper position, indicating that they are too full. We
also recommend that each part is air-dried before refitting and replacing it.
You can clean your drip tray in the dishwasher.
WHEN TO EMPTY AND CLEAN THE COFFEE GROUNDS TRAY.
See chapter 10.B. of the quick start guide "CLEANING THE DRIP TRAY REGULARLY" figs 1 to 5.
When the LED
"
alert
"
on the touchscreen and the light alert (W) on the machine light up.
You can empty it regularly and before the machine requests it, but when the machine is lit up this is so that it can record that
the container has indeed been emptied. For hygiene reasons, we advise you to clean the grounds container with a sponge
in warm soapy water every day. We also recommend that you air dry this part before replacing it.
Important:
The coffee grounds container has a capacity of approximately
9
pats. Failure to regularly empty the coffee grounds
container and drip tray as indicated above may damage your machine.
MAINTENANCE OF THE WATER TANK AND BEAN CONTAINER
WHEN AND HOW TO CLEAN THE WATER TANK
To preserve a better coffee
fl
avour, in
fl
uenced by water quality and for hygiene reasons, we advise you to use only fresh water and
to clean the water reservoir daily with hot water and a bottle brush. We also recommend that you air dry this part before replacing it.
WHEN AND HOW TO CLEAN THE BEAN CONTAINER
Coffee beans may leave oily residues on the coffee tray which may affect the quality of the coffee. To preserve the best coffee
fl
avour and for hygiene reasons, we recommend that you wipe it with a soft, dry cloth whenever it needs to be filled.
Caution: Do not clean using water as water in the bean container damages the machine.
