HOW TO INSTALL THE KRUPS CLARIS AQUA FILTER SYSTEM CARTRIDGE.
• Your machine must be plugged in and switched on
• The cartridge is placed in the water reservoir
• Place the cartridge with the numbered ring facing up
• Use the black screw-in attachment, supplied with the cartridge, to correctly position and screw the
cartridge in place
• On your display screen, press for 3 seconds. A beep will confirm entry into the " Installing the filter "
menu. Place a container under the nozzles.
• The fl ashes and the coffee rinsing image is lit up.
• Press to initiate use of the filter.
• The lights under the recipes will fade in and out during installation.
• Installation is complete when the light is steady again.
GRINDER: ADJUSTING THE GRINDING FINENESS
WHY ADJUST THE GRINDING FINENESS?
You can adjust the strength of your coffee by adjusting the grinding fineness of the coffee beans.
Varying the grinding fineness makes it possible to adapt to different types of bean:
- A heavily roasted and oily bean will require a coarse grind,
- A lighter roasted bean will be drier and will require a fine grind.
Note: the finer the grinding, the more powerful the aroma.

HOW DO I ADJUST THE GRINDING FINENESS?
Turn the setting button located in the coffee bean container (J) to suit your bean type and the power of aroma desired.
This adjustment must be performed during grinding and notch by notch. After 3 preparations you will notice a distinct
difference in taste.
Caution: We do not recommend the use of oily and caramelised beans as these are di ffi cult for the grinder to process.
These can damage the machine and lead to poor sensor performance.
PREPARING DRINKS
THE STAGES OF PREPARATION OF THE DRINK:
– Bean grinding
– Compaction of the grinding
– Pre-infusion (some drops may fall into your cup at this stage)
– Percolation
– When the drink is ready, the compacted grind (pat) is then ejected into the coffee grounds collection tray (C)
STARTING A DRINK:
– Check that the bean container is full. If there is no coffee, the machine will inform you with a light alert (W). Press
START/STOP to confirm the coffee refill. Refer to chapter 9 of the quick start guide "FILLING THE COFFEE BEAN
CONTAINER" figs 1 to 8.
Caution: To avoid damaging your machine, take care not to pour water into the grinder.
– Check that the water tank is full. If there is no water, the machine will inform you with a light alert (V) and will ask you
to fill the tank. Refer to chapter 8 of the quick start guide "FILLING THE WATER TANK" figs 1 to 7.
– Place the cup(s) under the coffee outlets.
– Press the button for the chosen drink.

FAVOURITES FUNCTION
WHAT IS A FAVOURITE FOR?
The Favourites function, accessible from the button, allows you to access your favourite drink at the touch of a button
thanks to the settings you have entered. See chapter 2 of the quick start guide "DRINK SETTINGS" figs 1 to 9.
You can save a favourite A and a favourite B. See chapter 3 of the quick start guide "SAVE YOUR FAVOURITE SETTINGS"
figs 1 to 6.
HOW DO I SAVE FAVOURITES?
– Saving a favourite can only be done after the recipe has finished. You will then have 10 seconds to press the
Favourites function and save your favourite drink as A or B.
– You can customise your drink volume by stopping the recipe as it is being poured. Press during the fl ow. The
volume of that recipe that has been poured will be saved under favourites.
Important: After a drink has been poured, the machine automatically switches to a default recipe. It is
therefore no longer possible to save a favourite.
If you save a favourite when a recipe has already been saved, it will be overwritten.
– Once the favourite is saved, you can make a favourite drink by pressing this simple key .
Then follow the instructions in chapter 4 of the quick start guide "MAKING A FAVOURITE DRINK" Figs 1 to 6.
PREPARATION WITH HOT WATER
Check that the accessory is attached to the machine to start preparing hot water.
How to prepare hot water. See chapter 5 of the quick start guide "PREPARING HOT WATER" figs 1 to 5.
Preparing hot water:
– Place a cup under the milk frothing attachment (G) with the three parts G1, G2 and G3 attached to G4.
– Press
– You can adjust the volume of the drink according to your tastes. However, it is not possible to get 2 cups at the same
time - the " x2 " function is not available.
– Press . The machine will warm up (the indicator lights are blinking), then start the hot water.
– The Favourites function is available. See chapter 3 of the quick start guide "SAVING YOUR SETTINGS" figs 1 to 6.
