Caution!
Residual risks
Even if you use this electric power tool in accor
-
dance with instructions, certain residual risks
cannot be rules out. The following hazards may
arise in connection with the equipment’s construc
-
tion and layout:
▶ Lung damage if no suitable protective dust mask is
used.
▶ Damage to hearing if no suitable ear protection is used.
▶ Health damage caused by hand-arm vibrations if the
equipment is used over a prolonged period or is not
properly guided and maintained.
ASSEMBLY
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the
mains plug.
Mounting the Grinding Tools
Only use properly fitting and undamaged open-end span
-
ners.
▶ Clean the grinder spindle and all parts to be mounted.
▶ Hold the grinder spindle with open-end spanner by the
spanner flats. Loosen the clamping nut with open-end
spanner 9 by applying it to the spanner flats and turn
-
ing in anticlockwise direction.
▶ Insert the clamping shaft of the grinding tool to the
stop into the collet chuck.
▶ Hold the grinder spindle firmly with open-end spanner
and clamp the tool bit with open-end spanner by the
spanner flats, turning in clockwise direction.
The grinding tools must run completely concentrical. Do
not continue to use out-of-round grinding accessories, in
-
stead, replace before continuing to work.
▶ Do not tighten the collet chuck of the clamping nut as
long as no grinding accessory is mounted. Otherwise,
the collet chuck can become damaged.
▶ Only use grinding points with a matching shank diam
-
eter. A grinding point/accessory with a shank diame
-
ter that does not fit the tool holder (see “Technical
Data”), can not be clamped properly and will damage
the collet chuck.
▶ The application tool must be clamped at least 10mm.
The inner shank dimension L 0 can be used to calculate
the maximum permitted speed of the application tool
from the specifications provided by manufacturer of
the application tool. It must not be less than the maxi
-
mum speed of the power tool.
Dust/Chip Extraction
▶ Dust from materials such as lead-containing coatings,
some wood types, minerals and metal can be harmful
to one’s health. Touching or breathing-in the dust can
cause allergic reactions and/or lead to respiratory in
-
fections of the user or bystanders. Certain dust, such
as oak or beech dust, is considered carcinogenic, es
-
pecially in connection with wood-treatment additives
(chromate, wood preservative). Materials containing
asbestos may only be worked by specialists.
▶ Provide for good ventilation of the working place.
▶ It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-class respirator.
Observe the relevant regulations in your country for
the materials to be worked.
▶ Prevent dust accumulation at the workplace. Dust can
easily ignite.
