9.3 Rock Kit Installation
CAUTION: Do not place rocks directly over burner port holes.
Improper rock placement may affect flame appearance and
may cause excessive soot to build upon the glass.
•
If converting to LP (propane) gas, complete the conversion
before installing the rock kit. Follow the conversion
instructions included with the kit.

Rock numbers are located on the bottom of each rock. Refer
to following instructions and illustrations for proper rock
placement.
This kit includes:
(1) R1 rock
(5) R7 rocks
(2) R8 rocks
(4) R2 rocks
(2) R5 rocks
(2) RX10 rocks
(2) R3 rocks
(1) R6 rock
(6) R11 rocks
The #CK34-R500 rock kit is designed for potential adjustments
in rock placement and usage. Hussong Manufacturing suggests
removing (4) R7 rocks and (2) R11 rocks. Reference the
following illustrations for proper rock placement. Do not block
pilot assembly or burner port holes.
1.
Place rocks R6 and R1 over the burner tube, as shown
below.
2.
Locate the (2) back mounting pins on each side of the burner
at the back of the irebox. Align the holes in the bottom of (2)
R11 rocks with mounting pins, as shown. Push to seat.
3.
Locate (3) mounting pins on the left side of the burner. Align
the holes in the bottom of (1) RX10 rock with pins. Push to
seat. Repeat with right side.
4.
Distribute rockwoll embers onto burner and base rocks using
a stif bristle brush.
5.
Place the rest of the rocks as shown. Distribute additional
rockwoll embers once completed.
