8.3 Firebox Liner Kit Installation
WARNING: RISK OF FIRE! Do not operate this fireplace without a firebox
liner kit installed.
•
Firebox liner kits will provide insulation and are required to
operate this fireplace.
•
If converting to propane, complete the conversion before
installing firebox liner kit. Follow the conversion instructions
included with the kit.
8.3.1 Brick Refractory Firebox Liner Kit
This kit includes:
(3) pc. Brick refractory firebox
liner
(2) Exterior side panels
1. Remove firebox floor refractory.
2. Install firebox back panel. Verify the notched end is positioned
inside the channel at the back of the firebox.
3. Install firebox side panels. Position the cut out sections around
the baffle with the angled ends at the bottom of the firebox.
4. Secure side panels with refractory clips located at the front
corners of the baffle. Loosen screws to adjust refractory clips. Re-
tighten screws to secure.
5. Reinstall firebox floor refractory.
6. Attach the exterior side refractory panels to component access
doors.
8.3.2 Enamel Firebox Liner Kit
This kit includes:
(4) pc. Enamel firebox liner
(4) Firebox insulation panels
(3) Exterior enamel panels
(4) Screws
1. Remove firebox floor refractory.
2. Press together the back insulation and back enamel panel. The
insulation panels will fit loose inside the top and bottom enamel
panel flanges.
3. Position the panel assembly, with the insulation side against the
back of the firebox and enamel panel side flanges facing forward,
with the notched end into the firebox back channel.
4. Press together the side panels and side enamel panels. The
insulation panels will fit loose. Position the panel assemblies with
the cut out sections positioned around the baffle and the angled
end at the firebox floor.
5. Align holes in the enamel panel mounting flanges with the holes
in the burner heat shield. Secure with (4) screws.
6. Secure the panel tops with the refractory clips located at the
front corners of the baffle. Loosen screws to adjust refractory
clips. Re-tighten screws to secure.
7. Slide the bottom insulation and enamel panel into the channel
in the hearth plate. Install hearth plate.
8. Attach the exterior enamel panel sections to the component
access doors and secure with (2) truss head screws.
