INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
•
The
KOZI
CDVI insert may only be installed in an existing wood burning
fireplace that meets all local building and fire codes.
•
Both masonry and factory built fireplaces considered correct for the use of solid
fuels, and are suitable to host the installation.
•
The original fireplace must not be modified in any manner that would cause it to
be considered less structural or fire safe than prior to the insert installation.
•
The minimum dimensions that the host fireplace must be are:
Opening width – 28 3/8”
Opening height – 17 ¾”
Rear width – 17” at 15 ¾” deep
Depth – 15 ¾”
•
The insert and venting system must not be connected to a chimney flue serving a
separate solid-fuel burning appliance.
•
DUE TO HIGH TEMPERATURES, THE INSERT SHOULD NOT BE
INSTALLED IN A LOCATION THAT MAY CREATE A HAZARD BECAUSE OF
TRAFFIC, FURNITURE OR DRAPERIES.
