Scanner Moving Mechanism/Control
• The Scanner is moved by the Scanner Motor at a given speed.
• The Scanner Home Position Sensor detects the Scanner at its home position.
• The 2nd/3rd Mirrors Carriage moves at a speed half that of the Scanner. It thereby keeps
constant the optical path length between the original and the PC Drum.
A. Operation
<Marking copies through the Original Glass>
1.
The Scanner generally stands by at the shading position.
When the Original Cover or ADF is raised to an angle of 15° or more, the Scanner
moves to the original size detection position.
2.
When the Original Cover or ADF is raised to an angle of less than 15° with an orig-
inal placed on the Original Glass (when the Original Cover Sensor is activated), the
lamp turns ON and the original size is detected.
3.
When the Size Reset Switch is turned ON with the Original Cover or ADF fully low-
ered, the Scanner moves to the shading position to carry out shading.
4.
If the Start key is not immediately pressed, the lamp goes out after the lapse of 11
sec. after it has turned ON.
5.
If the Start key is pressed immediately and the lamp remains ON, the Scanner
starts a scan motion immediately.
6.
After the original has been scanned, the Scanner makes a return motion and its
home position is detected. Then, the Scanner moves to, and stops at, the home
position.
