Installation of dual RX system
Adding a second receive transducer increases the angular coverage.
In a dual RX system, the transmit transducer must be connected to both receive
transducers. This connection is for synchronization and power.
In a dual RX installation the two RX transducer arrays may be positioned on each side
of the keel with a roll angle of 35 to 40 degrees. To be able to cover ± 100 degrees the
roll installation angle should not be less than 35 degrees. To obtain overlap between the
two RX arrays at shallow depths, the roll installation angle should not be more than
40 degrees, and the across distance between the two RX arrays should be as small as
possible.
For specialist applications such as pipeline inspection, other configurations can be
