2.4 PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN WHEN WORKING
2.4.1 STARTING THE ENGINE
• Before getting on the machine, walk around it and check for
people and objects that might be in the way.
• Do not start the engine if warning plates have been attached to
the control levers.
• Before starting the engine, check that the safety lock lever is at
the LOCK position.
• When starting the engine, sound the horn as an alert signal.
• Start the engine only while seated with fastened safety belt.
• Do not allow anyone to get on the machine.
• Do as follows to check that the floor is fixed securely in position.
If it is not fixed securely in position, it may cause serious per-
sonal injury.
1 - Open the triangular cover, the engine rear cover, the tank
cover and check that floor tilt lock bolts (1) (4 places) are
securely tightened.
If any abnormality is found, always carry out repairs or ask your
Komatsu Dealer to carry out repairs.
2.4.2 CHECK THE DIRECTION BEFORE
STARTING THE MACHINE
• Before operating the machine travel levers, check the position
of the blade.
If the blade is positioned on the back of the machine, the opera-
tion of the travel levers is inverted.
In this condition, take care not to mistake the travel movements
during the use of the machine.
