Malfunction / error

Remedy
The charge current display comes
on when the Diesel engine is
running.
Inadequate tension of the V-ribbed
belt.
Check the tension of the V-ribbed
belt and replace the tightening roller
if necessary.
The V-ribbed belt is worn.
Replace the V-ribbed belt.
The cable connections are loose or
separated.
Fasten or replace the cable.
The battery charging alternator,
rectifier or controller are faulty.

Black smoke emitted from the Diesel
engine.
The injection nozzles are faulty or
inefficient.

Fault in the turbocharger (charge
pressure too low).

The engine is overloaded.

The oil level in the Diesel engine is
too high.
Correct the oil level.

turbocharger is faulty.

The crankcase breather is faulty.
Check this and replace if necessary.

Run the engine until it reaches its
operating temperature.
There is water in the fuel system.
Check the fuel system and the drain
pre-filter.
There is a leak in the charge air
