6. Install the Sink: Self-Rimming Installations
CAUTION: Risk of personal injury or product damage.
Large
sinks are very heavy. Get help lifting the sink into place.
Choose your desired sealant option from the choices below.
Sealant Option 1
provides the best seal but makes the sink more
difficult to remove.
Sealant Option 2
provides a good seal and makes the sink easier
to remove.
Sealant Option 1
Carefully place the sink upside down and apply a continuous
bead of quality sealant to the underside of the sink rim.
Carefully position the sink into the countertop opening.
From under the sink, hook the mounting clips into the metal tabs
on the sink.
Tighten the hex nuts on the clips until a watertight seal is
obtained.
Do not overtighten.
The clips are designed to hold the
sink in position while the sealant cures, so it is only necessary to
draw the rim down firmly onto the countertop.
Apply sealant
around the sink rim.
