Chapter 2 Radar Basic Operation MDC-5000 Series

Setup brightness
This is to set up brightness of ECHO, TRAIL, BKGND, OS TOOL, TGT, MAP, CURSOR, DATA and
MENU/ALERT.
Default value of these items is 100 (max).
For safety reason, brightness cannot be adjusted to less than 20.

Select the mode (day or night) by pressing DAY/NIGHT key, brightness of which you would like to
change.

Press MENU key to display
“Menu”.
Select [BRILL] => select [ECHO], [TRAIL], [BKGND], [OS/TOOL], [TGT], [MAP], [CURSOR],
[DATA] and [MENU/ALERT].
After adjusting each item with joystick, press ENT key.
Color and brightness settings reset
If you want to return the color and brightness settings back to default value, please use following
procedure.

Press MENU key to display
“Menu”.
Select [BRILL] => [RESET] => [GO], and press ENT key.
