7.7 Dressing of grinding wheels
Dressing gives rise to abrasive particles (small fragments of abrasive grit
and dust) which could enter the eyes.
Wearing protective glasses is mandatory.
If the safety slides on the protective hood have been removed, only
switch on the machine when the dressing device is mounted.
Danger of serious injuries!
CAUTION
Grinding wheels that have become untrue are
made true again with the HV 156 (7-17/1) dress-
ing device.
To dress the wheel, the adjustable safety slides
(7-18/1) on the protective hood (3-2/6) must be
removed and the grinding wheels must be rotated
away from each other.
The dressing device is fixed on the machine hood
using the four star knobs (7-17/2).
Switch on the machine and make the grinding
wheel edges true again with the dressing stone.
After the dressing process, mount the safety slides
(7-18/1) back on the protective hood.
NOTICE
The grinding angle must be re-aligned after
dressing (see Chapter 7.6).
