5.2.7 Spline gear inspection
Check if the driving gear moves freely on the rotor shaft and check for wear. Replace as necessary.

5.2.8 Brush holder inspection
Check movement of the brushes in the holder. If any resistance is noted, check for distortion or dirt on
the sliding surface. Clean or replace as necessary. Check the insulation of brush shelf per the diagram
below. There should be no continuity.
5.2.8 Excitation coil inspection
- Break inspection of excitation coil
Use an ohmmeter set to R×1k and check the continuity between brush lead wire and coil. If there is no
continuity, the circuit is open. Replace the excitation coil.
