HANDLING NEW TRACTOR 5-13
IMPORTANT
Do not turn the key switch while
the engine is running.
When the temperature is below
0°C (32°F), place the range lever
in the neutral position and keep
the engine at medium speed to
warm up the lubricant of engine
and transmission for at least 10
minutes. And after that depress
the clutch pedal several times
slowly. If the tractor is operated
before the lubricant of engine and
transmission is not warm
enough, the tractor life will be
shortened.
Do not operate the tractor under
full load condition until it is suffi-
ciently warmed up.
Do not use starting fluid as this
may cause serious damage to the
engine.
When the ambient temperature
is less than -15°C (5°F), remove
the battery from the tractor and
store it somewhere warm until
next operation.
STOPPING THE ENGINE
Reduce engine revolution and apply even
foot pressure on both brake pedals. De-
press the clutch pedal and place main
gear shift lever and PTO switch in neutral.
Lower equipment. Allow engine to idle
for a short time before turning it off. Stop-
ping a hot engine at high speed may cause
internal engine damage.
Set parking brake by pulling the rod.
Turn main switch key counterclockwise
to the “OFF” position to open electric
circuit.
IMPORTANT
Remove the key whenever you
leave the tractor. Then you are
certain the ignition and lights are
off. Also, it prevents unauthorized
operators from starting the
tractor.
WARNING
After operating the tractor or en-
gine, never touch the muffler or
the heat shield until it has suffi-
cient time to cool.
CAUTION
To avoid the damage to the turbo
charger of this engine:
Do not accelerate quickly right
after engine start.
A minute of idling is recommended
before getting into the work and
also before the engine stop.
