Analog sound
is printed as two wavy lines
on the film.
The height of the amplitude signifies loud-
ness, frequency signifies pitch.
The
Dolby digital sound
information
(DOLBY SR·D) is encoded between the
perforations.
The
DTS digital sound
information is en-
coded between the picture and the analog
sound track.
The
SDDS
information is encoded on the
edges of the film.
3 .3 .2 Magnetic Sound Device (70 mm film)
The magnetic sound device reads the
magnetic track on the 70 mm film.

3 .3 .3 DTS/SDDS Reader
Optionally a DTS (see figure) or SDDS
reader can be used to scan the corre-
sponding sound track on the film.
The readers will be fastened with special
holders on the projector.
