ZCV39 / ZCV42 Basic Finishing 6: With MQZCV42DD & Stone, Brick, or Tile Boarder 

 

Step One:

 Frame Fireplace with nailing tabs oriented as 

shown.  

 

Step Two:

 Use Drywall to finish face of wall.   

NOTE:

 Wall will be flush with fireplace face. 

 

 

 

Step 3:

 A stone, brick, or other non-combustible border 

may be applied to the wall. Maintain clearances from 
fireplace opening below. 

 

 

IMPORTANT NOTE!

 

When installing stone, brick, or other 

material around the perimeter of the surround: 
You MUST Leave 2-5/8” of the fireplace face exposed around 
the fireplace opening on the Sides, 2” at the Bottom, and 3-
1/8” must be exposed on the top. This is to install and remove 
the Door Frame. See drawings below. 

A Tile Lip Kit (ZCV-TLK) is available.
