Warranty and liability

The KID CAR Company provides a 2-
year warranty on defects in manufacture
from the date of purchase.

1. The KID CAR has been made to

transport young children. No claim
under warranty can be made if
the damage has been caused by
negligence, such as exceeding the
maximum load, taking corners at high
speed, riding in sea water or storing
in wet or moist areas.

2.  The KID CAR Company BV provides

warranty with regard to the fabric
span, seat, front cover, mosquito
cover and sunshade in the event of
clearly demonstrable manufacture
and/or material defects. The warranty
does not apply to any weather action,
such as from the sun, moist and sea
water.

3. Only your dealer will consider any

claims under warranty. Contact your
dealer for any such claims, and he will
process your request accordingly.

4. Parts considered for claims under

warranty must be packed in a manner
that rules out any further damage
during transport.

5. Warranty does not apply to wear

and tear of parts, e.g. wear of inner
tubes and tyres, fading fabric parts,
deterioration as a result of weather
infl uences such as sun, rain and
wind.

6.  The KID CAR Company BV explicitly

rejects any liability arising from
the possession, the use or putting
into operation. The buyer shall be
fully responsible for the control,
use and compliance with the safety
precautions. The KID CAR Company
BV shall assume no liability for
damage to third parties insofar such
damage is not in violation of civil
liability rules.

7. Any disputes shall be exclusively

governed by Netherlands law.

8. The above conditions of warranty

shall take precedence above any
other conditions in terms of warranty
and liability the buyer may produce.

For more information or any questions
you may have, please contact your
dealer.

4. Riding with the KID CAR

Preparation
First attach the KID CAR to the bicycle
before allowing the children to get in.
Before every ride, always check that all
connections and fasteners are securely
tight and locked. Remember to also fi t
the extra safely belt while connecting the
coupling to the bicycle.

Riding
Riding with the KID CAR trailer is
different from just riding a bike. At the
beginning you may fi nd the length, width
and the weight of the cart rather unusual.
Practise without child passengers fi rst.
Make left and right turns and see how
the KID CAR behaves when riding along
kerbstones and other obstacles. When
riding along a tram rail, remember that
the KID CAR follows a different track.
Always approach barriers or judder bars
at a right angle.

Getting in
Hold the bicycle tight while the children
are getting in. Make sure that the bicycle
fi rmly stands against a wall or lamp post.
Once the children are seated, you may
let the bicycle go and fasten the seat
belts.

Never leave the children on their own
Never leave the children in the KID CAR
without supervision. Always park the KID
CAR in a way it cannot accidentally roll
away. Better still:

always engage the

parking brake when the bike is not in
use.

Safety helmets
Always tell the child to wear an approved
safety helmet. Research has shown that
85% of head injuries could have been
prevented if only the cyclists had been
wearing approved safety helmets.

Front cover
Your KID CAR is included with a front

cover. These covers are protecting the
children against insects and any road
grit during the ride. Flying insects and
road grit may cause injuries or do other
harm to your children. For that reason we
advise to

always go for a ride with the

front cover cover closed.

Load
The KID CAR can carry children up to
6 years old. The maximum load, i.e.
the children plus any baggage, is 60kg.
Avoid point concentrated load on the
fl oor. Remember that dropping a 50 kg
object from a height of 20 cm has an
impact of 200 kg on the fl oor.

Do not

allow the children to jump onto the
fl oor of the KID CAR.

Being seen and lighting
Your KID CAR has optimal exposure with
refl ective strips around the fabric span
and the tyres. The safety fl ag  swinging
back and forth make other road users
aware of your presence, and at the back
a refl ector is mounted. When riding in
the dark, you must use the rear light ,for
better security.

Preventing theft
Purchase a sturdy padlock with a solid,
long chain. Check for any fi xed  objects,
such as trees or bicycle stands. Pull the
chain through the tongue holders of the
KID CAR and through the frame of the
bicycle. In that way everything is locked
and secured at once. Do not leave any
valuables unattended in the KID CAR!

5. Maintenance and inspection

Checking
Check the KID CAR regularly and have
it serviced annually by your dealer. Keep
the tyres at the right pressure and tighten
the air valve caps. Regularly check that
all (bolted) connections remain secure.
The moving parts of the KID CAR require
no maintenance. Use a silicone-based
lubricant for the ball bearings, if so
required.

Cleaning
For cleaning the KID CAR, use water
only (plus a detergent under certain
conditions). Use no solvents in any
event. The cloth of the fabric span and
the front cover has a water-repellent
coating that is not suitable for treatment
with chemical solvents. Do not use a
high-pressure spraying pistol for cleaning
purposes!

Storage
The KID CAR is 78 cm wide and will
basically pass through every door. For
many years of enjoyment from your KID
CAR we suggest you do not leave the car
permanently outside overnight. The fabric
span is made of water-repellent materials
but is not resistant to permanent moist
exposure. This may cause mould and/or
damp stains. Allow any damp fabric to
dry out

in a dry area.
