1. Bluetooth Function

1.1. Registering a Bluetooth Mobile Phone or Music Player

1.1.1. Pairing Mode

A Bluetooth connection must first be established between your Bluetooth mobile phone
or Bluetooth music player and the KIA Bluetooth radio.    The first step to connecting the
Bluetooth radio and Bluetooth device is to introduce or ‘Pair’ the KIA Bluetooth radio and
Bluetooth device together.    It is recommended that you have the instruction manual for
your Bluetooth mobile phone or music player with you during the pairing process
described below to understand how to set your device to pair with the KIA Bluetooth
radio.

Note:

It is recommended that all other Bluetooth devices other than mobile phones are

switched off during the registration or pairing process.

Pairing instructions:

1) Press button

  once to select BLUETOOTH mode.

2) Press knob

 to display

REG PHONE

, the press knob

 again.

PAIRING

 and

CODE 0000

will alternately appear on the radio display.    The KIA Bluetooth radio

is now waiting for your Bluetooth device to respond with the correct details.

3) Now, set your Bluetooth device to pair with the KIA Bluetooth radio.    For a guide to

setting your Bluetooth device to do this, refer to section 1.1.2. ‘Setting your
Bluetooth device to pairing mode’

on the next page of this booklet.

4) If you wish to cancel the PAIRING mode, press button      .
5) If the pairing process is successful, the Bluetooth logo appears on the radio display

and paired phone name (e.g. Samsung or Nokia) and

CONNECTED

 appear on the

display for 2 seconds.

6) Your Bluetooth device is now ready for use with the KIA Bluetooth radio.

Note:

a.  The KIA Bluetooth radio allows a maximum of 6 Bluetooth devices to be paired
b.  The battery and signal indicators may not be displayed if your mobile phone does

not send this information to the KIA Bluetooth radio.

c.  Bluetooth technology only allows one phone to be connected to your KIA Bluetooth

radio at one time.

d. If a Bluetooth music player is to be connected together with a mobile phone, refer

to the notes in section 3.1. ‘Playing music using Bluetooth Audio’ on page 18.

e.  Bluetooth Connection with a mobile phone is normally established using the Hands

Free Profile (HFP).    However, in some cases, the connection may use Head Set
Profile (HSP) and some functions may not be available.
