RF Coupler/Bridges
The test set uses 8 couplers (
5087-7752
) on the front panel for RF Test Ports 5 to 12.
The couplers provide the signal separation of the source and receiver paths. The test
set ports can receive from or stimulate a signal to the DUT.
The RF Test Port connectors are male 3.5 mm. The coupling factor is approximately
-16 dB for the Coupled Arm (minimum -22 dB and max -12 dB at 26.5 GHz). The
insertion loss through the CPLR THRU path is typically < 4 dB at 26.5 GHz.
RF Switch Components
The test set uses 8 SP4T mechanical, DC to 26.5 GHz, switches (
87104-60045
). The
switches select the RF paths from the analyzer’s source and receiver through
interconnect cables to the test set. Option 129 installed a Transfer Switch
(
N1811-60027
) in the Source Out path for ports 1, 5, and 9.
Source and Receiver Switch Paths
Switch 10 provides control of the PNA Source path to Port 1, 5 and 9. In the state
shown in the block diagram, switch 10 routes the RF Source to Port 1 and the test set
Source paths to ports 5 and 9 are terminated.
Switch 20 provides control of the PNA Source path to PNA-L Port 2 or PNA-X Port 3
and the test set Ports 6 and 10. In the state shown in the block diagram, switch 20
routes the RF Source back to the PNA Port and unused test set ports (6 and 10) are
terminated.
Switch 30 provides control of the PNA Source path to PNA-L Port 3 or PNA-X Port 4
and test set Ports 7 and 11. In the state shown in the block diagram, switch 30 routes
the RF Source back to the PNA Port and unused test set ports (7 and 11) are
terminated.
Switch 40 provides control of the PNA Source path to PNA-L Port 4 or PNA-X Port 2
and the test set Ports 8 and 12. In the state shown in the block diagram, switch 40
routes the RF Source back to the PNA Port and unused test set ports (8 and 12) are
terminated.
Switch 11 provides control of the Receiver path to Port 1, 5 and 9. In the state shown
in the block diagram, switch 11 routes the Coupler Arm from the PNA Port 1 to the A
Receiver and all unused test set Ports (5 and 9) Coupler Arm paths are terminated.
Switch 21 provides control of the Receiver path to PNA-L Port 2 or PNA-X Port 3 and
test set Ports 6 and 10. In the state shown in the block diagram, switch 21 routes the
Coupler Arm from the PNA Port 2 to the A Receiver and all unused test set ports (2, 6
and 10) Coupler Arm paths are terminated.
Switch 31 provides control of the Receiver path to PNA-L Port 3 or PNA-X Port 4 and
test set Ports 7 and 11. In the state shown in the block diagram, switch 31 routes the
Coupler Arm from the PNA Port 3 to the A Receiver and all unused test set ports (3, 7
and 11) Coupler Arm paths are terminated.
