Recommended MIMO Configurations
2x2: One PXIe Chassis
This configuration consists of two Keysight M9381A PXIe Vector Signal Generators and two Keysight
M9391A PXIe Vector Signal Analyzers in a single M9018A PXIe Chassis - with or without an
M9036A/M9037A PXIe Embedded Controller. A single Keysight M9300A PXIe Frequency Reference is
shared across all sources and receivers. This configuration occupies 16 slots. Refer to

3x3: Two PXIe Chassis
The first configuration consists of three sources (M9381A) in a single M9018A Chassis - with or without an
M9036A/M9037A PXIe Embedded Controller. A single Keysight M9300A PXIe Frequency Reference is
shared across all sources. Refer to

The next configuration consists of three receivers (M9391A) in a single M9018A Chassis - with or without an

For all MIMO configurations, the Keysight M9300A PXIe Frequency Reference should be installed in slot 10 (the
timing slot).
For all MIMO configurations, the Keysight M9300A PXIe Frequency Reference 100 MHz reference cables must
be of equal length. The appropriate number of 8121-2175 cables are provided.
