(5) If H O L D s w i t c h © is pressed during frequency
measurement, the current measurement value on
the D i s p l a y is held a s it i s .
If pressed a g a i n , a new measurement cycle w i l l
be s t a r t e d . However, the measurement value
currently being displayed w i l l remain unchanged
until the new measurement cycle is complete.
T h a t is, the display value being held by the H O L D
s w i t c h is updated by the output value f r o m the
new measurement operation.
(6) If R E S E T s w i t c h © is pressed during frequency
measurement, the measurement value on the
Display w i l l be reset to ' 0 ' .
If the s w i t c h is released, a new measurement
cycle w i l l be s t a r t e d . However, the measurement
value w i l l remain ' 0 ' until the new cycle is
complete.
(7) A T T x 10 s w i t c h ® and L P F s w i t c h © are
helpless in the prescale input mode.
5 - 2 Period Measurement
In the period measurement mode, the cycle t i m e of
each input signal is measured.
The cycle t i m e f i n a l l y output by the counter is the
average of a l l the cycles measured. The number of
cycles to be measured can be 1, 10, 100 or 1000.
The m a x i m u m input frequency is 3=5MHz.
(1) Input a target signal ( t o be measured) to the
C H A N N E L A input juck.
(2) Select the P E R / 0 . 3 u s (period) mode w i t h F U N C
s w i t c h @ .
The k H z / ^ s L E D w i l l t u r n on indicating t h a t the
measurement value is displayed in microseconds.
(3) Select a desired display resolution value w i t h
G A T E s w i t c h @ . T h i s G A T E s w i t c h is used to
specify the number of cycles per cycle measurement.
A s already explained, the f i n a l cycle time output
is the average of a l l the cycle times. The display
resolution L E D s ( f r o m the l e f t ) indicates 1, 10,
100 and 1000.
(4) The average cycle time of a l l the periods measured
is output to D i s p l a y © .
G A T E L E D ® blinks during the period measurement.
The measurement value on the display w i l l be
updated a t the moment when one period measurement
is complete (when the G A T E L E D t u r n s o f f ) . The
G A T E L E D blinking m a y not be confirmed because
