Introduction of grinding wheel
Selection of grinding wheel:
Tor desireable grinding process, grindignwehel is selected bvase on workpiece’s
requirement and machine’s grinding feature. The consideraton must also include
selecting proper roughness degree, binding degree, texture and binding agent.
A. Grit
Grits of centerless grinding machine include

grit,
single-crystallized grit of aluminum oxide series, as well as

grit and

grit of silicon carbide. Herein, workpieces of various grits are explained
as fllowing:
A grit
WA grit
Single-crystallized grit
-
C grit
GC grit
As far as steel is concerned, the most tough “A” grit is better for soft steel
Aluminum
oxide series
a. High tensile strength, tough and higher viscosity
workpiece.
B.Large feed depth. .
a. Extreme high tensile strength, tough and fragile
workpiece.
b. Smaller feed depth.
Alloy stell which is hard and difficult to
be grinded
Silicon
carbide grit
a. Low tensile strength, hard but fragile workpiece.
b. High ductility workpiece
a. Marble, leather, rubber and other non-casting material
b. super hard alloy of low tensile strength, extreme hard,
delicate and fragile.
c. smaller feed depth
