5.3 Putting into Service
5.3.1 General Start-up Information
NOTE
Risk of burns
The unit's surface may become as hot as 70 °C. Unprotected contact causes a risk of burning
yourself.
Avoid direct contact with the unit in operation. Put on suitable safety gloves before
touching the unit.
Have the following tools at hand for starting the unit for the first time:
USB keyboard
USB mouse
Screen
5.3.2 Start-up Prerequisites
Functional earth is connected.
All cables are attached properly.
Power is supplied to the unit.
5.3.3 Turning on the Unit
Windows Embedded Compact 2013
Connect the unit to the power supply.
The user interface of the operating system displays after the boot-up routine. Remember that the display
resolution is set in the Image. In case a soft PLC is installed, it starts and displays its status.
5.3.4 Turning off the Unit
Units running Windows Embedded Compact 2013 do not have an "Exit" function. You may directly unplug
these units from the power supply.
