have noticed problems with is Product ID: 0x2513 from Vendor ID 0x0424 (SMSC).
If your USB port is no longer working, there is a fix. You should first try completely shutting
down your computer and starting it back up again (simply restarting may not work).
If it is still exhibiting the same problem, then you will need to reset your SMC (System
Management Controller).
To reset the SMC:
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if it is not
already connected.
3. On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side's) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power
button at the same time.
4. Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
5. Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Your SMC should now be reset and your USB port should be working again.
