Cautions
Notes on waterproof, dustproof, and
shock resistance
The product has a waterproof property equivalent to IPX5

and IPX8

, as well as a dustproof property equivalent to
IP5X

on the condition that the external connection terminal
cover and card slot cover are securely attached (based on
in-house testing).
Also, the product has shock resistance that meet the MIL-
SPEC
*4
(based on in-house testing).
Specifically, you can call in the rain (less than 20 mm
rainfall per hour) holding the product with a wet hand
without umbrella, or use the product in a place in wetting
risk such as bathroom or kitchen.
Before using the product, thoroughly read "Important
precautions before use" to ensure correct use. Failure to
follow the contents described in these sections may cause
intrusion of water, sand or other foreign material, resulting
in overheating, ignition, electric shock, injury or a fault.
*1 IPX5 equivalent means that the product will maintain its operability as a
phone even if it is sprayed with water from a 6.3 mm diameter nozzle at
a distance of about 3 meters for more than 3 minutes at a rate of about
12.5 liters per minute from any direction.
*2 IPX8 equivalent means that the product will maintain its operability as
a phone with no water getting inside the product even if it is gently
submerged in a tank of still tap water at room temperature to a depth of
1.5 meter for about 30 minutes.
*3 IP5X equivalent means that the product will securely maintain its
operability as a phone even after it has been placed in an apparatus with
grit and dust of diameters of 75
μ
m or less and shaken for 8 hours.

Department of Defense. Shock resistance performance for usage in
daily life is assumed. Note that if you subject to extreme impact such
as throwing, or dropping forcibly, the product may be damaged. Also,
scratches may be caused by dropping impact even if the product has no
problem with the performance.
We tested usage scenes under the conditions above.
Therefore, we cannot guarantee that the product will
operate properly under all possible conditions during actual
use. Malfunctions determined to be caused by mishandling
by the customer are not covered by the warranty.
Important precautions before use
Make sure that the card slot cover is firmly closed.
Waterproofness is only effective when the covers are securely
closed.
Never open or close the card slot cover if your hand or the
product is wet. Also, do not insert an earphone plug into the
earphone microphone terminal when it is wet with water.
Do not let the product submerged into or get wet with the
liquids (seawater, water from a swimming pool, hot water of
hot spring, water containing soap, detergent, bath powder,
alcohol, soft drink, seasoning, etc.) other than tap water. Also,
do not use it in a place where it gets wet with pet urine.
If it gets wet, immediately rinse it with tap water.
