5 Operation | 5.5 Determining findings and diagnosis
Note
The DIAGNOcam 2170 U is operated with the KaVo CONEXIO software. In
order to use CONEXIO, it must be installed on a work computer.

the respective unit. Updated versions of the instructions for use are avail-
able for download on the KaVo website.
5.4.1 Switching the camera on and off
Requirement
The treatment unit must be turned on.
Requirement
The PC must be switched on.

Remove the camera from the holder
ð
The camera automatically switches off.
▶
Place the camera in the holder.
ð
The camera automatically switches off.
Note
If no function key is pressed over a period of 10 minutes, the laser and cam-
era are automatically switched off.
Activate a function key briefly to switch on the DIAGNOcam again.
5.4.2 Taking and saving an image
Requirement
The "Record image" mode is set in the multimedia menu of the treatment unit.

There are two possibilities available for the creation of a still image: Either
press the ring switch or the foot control (payable option) of the treatment
unit.
▶
The camera is re-switched to live image mode again by pressing the shutter
release once again.
Save the image via the menu of the treatment unit or the software CONEXIO.
Note
Save all the required images, otherwise they will be automatically deleted
after the treatment (patient logout) and cannot be retrieved.
5.5 Determining findings and diagnosis
Note
Carious changes are displayed as dark shades in contrast to the healthy tooth
substance.
Note
Residual cleaning agent, restoration material, calculus and discoloration on
the tooth surface can change the scatter of the light and hence also be dis-
played as shade.
