POWER (high) or no assistance. Pressing once changes
the level of assistance by one level. This works both
ways, depending on which of the buttons you press.
If you cannot feel any assistance, simply backpedal
briefly and then pedal forwards again to trigger the
system check. If there is still no assistance being
delivered, the instruction “Please move the pedals”
will continue to be displayed. In this case you should
consult your specialist bike shop.
11. You can now ride off just as you would if you were
riding a normal bike. The motor starts providing assis-
tance as soon as the rear wheel starts turning.
›
From the first moment on, you have full assis-
tance. This is unfamiliar but comfortable. Prac-
tice starting up in a safe location before ventur-
ing into the road traffic.
›
If your bicycle is an Impulse 2.0 Offroad, wait
five seconds after switching on before turning the
pedals. If you do not wait, you may not get full
assistance.
5 Battery
Your battery is a lithium-ion battery, the ideal type of bat-
tery for this application. One of the main benefits of this
battery is its low weight combined with a high capacity.
5.1 Charging the battery
You can charge the battery whilst it is on the Pedelec
.
Alternatively, you can take the battery out of its holder
and charge it in a separate location. This is recommended
if it is cold outside, in order to charge the battery in a
warmer room. The battery can be charged at temperatures
between 0°C and 45°C.
