To De-activate
: Enter Command
###PIN
where PIN is your Master or
Manager code (or Privileged User code if setup as such using the E-Plex
Standard Software). The lock will cycle the motor once and will prompt you
with Green LED flashing to turn the lever back up to the home (horizontal)
position to de-activate the holdback. If the lever was already in the home
position but still in holdback, push it down first and then repeat the proce-
dure from the beginning of this Step 5. The latch is now fully extended
back in the locked position de-activating the holdback mode; you will once
again hear the lock motor cycling.
Warning
: Ensure that you de-activate the Latch Holdback mode when not need-
ed; otherwise the lock will stay unlocked permanently compromising security.
6.
You can also de-activate the Latch Holdback mode
mechanically
by per-
forming the following operation: insert the mechanical key in the override
cylinder, turn the key to retract the latch. The lever will automatically
spring back to the home position de-activating the holdback; remove the
key from the lock cylinder.
PROCEDURE 20 - SWINGBOLT OPERATION
This operation is similar to the Privacy function of a conventional lock with a
physical deadbolt, but not quite! In the E-Plex 3000 Swinbolt operation, any
valid user can disengage, ie., override the “privacy” by entering a valid PIN and
then turning the thumbturn which will retract the swingbolt down. Now the lock
will behave as though it is in a “latch holdback” mode since the swingbolt is
completely retracted and stays retracted, thus allowing free access without any
codes. You perform the same sequence of operations to engage, ie., re-lock by
bringing the swingbolt back to its “home” (horizontal locked) position.
•
the swingbolt engage (project it) and disengage (retract it) actions are
strictly manual by flipping the thumbturn on the lock front housing. This
function is neither programmable nor automatic and so you must ensure
to re-lock if it was left too long in a retracted position,
•
any valid user can perform this function – ie., engage or disengage the
swingbolt anytime,
•
when the swingbolt is disengaged (retracted), it will physically stay
retracted down when the door closes so that users carrying packages etc
do not have the inconvenience of having to turn the thumbturn again to
open the door, but simply push the door to enter without a code,
•
from the interior side of the door, any person (valid user or not) can
manually retract or engage the swingbolt to unlock or lock the door.
Required User Level: Master, Manager, Access user & Service user
1.
To Disengage (retract swingbolt)
: Enter a valid PIN to open and the lock will
flash the green LED indicating that you are a valid user and you are allowed
to disengage the swingbolt to unlock. Turn the thumbturn on the lock front
housing clockwise and hold. The swingbolt will fully retract down and will
stay retracted, allowing you to enter the door. Let go off the thumbturn so
that it will revert back to its normal horizontal (home) position but the swing-
bolt will stay retracted and disengaged.
