Starting with the one of the outside stowed Upper Support Arms, use a 6mm hex
allen key to loosen one (1) M8 X 16mm long socket head fastener that secures the
pivot joint to the top cross rail. Ensure that the pivot joint is free to rotate and slide
along the top cross rail slot (approximately 1 full turn of the fastener) (Figure 7).

Rotate the Upper Support Arm in place so that the arm is pointing out from the Top
Cross Rail and the pivot joint alignment tab is in the T-slot of the rail. Ensure that the
Upper Support Arm is in the same location that it was stowed. Tighten the M8 x 16
mm long socket head fastener just enough to capture the alignment tab in the slot
but leave it loose temporarily (Figure 8).
