Basic Operations
Fast Forward/Backward Through a Disc
You can perform these operations by pressing the fast forwards/backwards buttons on the remote control or the player itself.
Using the

• The playback speed increases with each press of the button.
To resume normal playback

If you press the
7
(Stop) button while a disc is playing, that point is stored as the resume point. If you turn the power
off, while a disc is playing, that point is stored as the resume point. If you continue playback from the resume point, you
can continue from your previous session.
Storing the resume position

While a disc is playing

(Stop).
The point at which the disc was stopped is stored as the resume point.
• If you turn the power off the point at which the power was switched off is stored as the resume point. (The
resume point is remembered even if the power is switched off.)
• If you store a new resume point, the previous resume point is replaced by the new resume point.
Resuming Playback
■
While a disc is stopped or the power is OFF

Press [RESUME].
Playback starts from the stored resume point.
• When playing Video CD discs that use PBC, playback may resume from slightly before or after the stored
resume point.
• If you use resume after stopping program or random playback, playback will start from the resume point using
normal playback, not program or random playback. (For DVD Audio, Audio CD, and Video CD)
Clearing a resume point
If you open the disc tray, the stored resume point is cleared.
Example of basic resume playback
To continue playback from a previous session, press [RESUME] instead of [PLAY]. Playback resumes point where you
stopped the previous session.
