Initial Settings

DOWNMIX

This setting adjusts the signal output to the Audio Output terminal to match the

connected device.

• Lt/Rt:

Use this setting if the Audio Output terminal of the player is

connected to a receiver with a built-in Dolby Pro Logic decoder.

• Lo/Ro:

Use this setting if the Audio Output terminal of the player is

connected to a TV or a receiver with a built-in Dolby Pro Logic

decoder.

• OFF:

Use this setting if the 5.1 ch Audio Output terminal of the player is

connected to a receiver with a 5.1ch input terminal.

COMPRESSION

You can adjust the downmix range according to your needs.

• ON:

This plays discs while suppressing the dynamic range. Use this

for quiet films etc. and other discs where is difficult to hear the

audio.

• OFF:

This plays discs using the original dynamic range.

SCREEN SAVER

If a still image is displayed for a long time, a residual shadow of the image can

be burnt-into the TV screen. To prevent this from happening, the player has a

screen saver function. If more than five minutes elapses without any operations

being performed, the screen saver starts. You can choose the following settings.

• MODE 1:

This mode uses a moving background.

• MODE 2:

This mode uses a stationary background.

• DIMMER:

This mode dims the screen.

• OFF:

The screen saver function is switched off.

Note:

If the Screen Saver function is set to OFF, be careful to ensure that image burn-in does not occur.

●

If the Screen Saver function is set to MODE 1 and flickering occurs, change to a different setting.

PROGRESSIVE MODE

Adjust this setting to match the connected TV.

• OFF:

Use this setting if the player is connected to a standard TV.

• VIDEO or FILM:Use this setting if the player is connected to Progressive

TV or High-Definition TV. For most cases, you should use

the Video setting.

Use the FILM setting when playing films to achieve even

better picture quality.

Note:

These Progressing settings do not effect the video output for sources (S-VIDEO, VIDEO) other than component

video terminal.
