Customising TV Settings
3. Highlight SOUND then press the OK button.
• Press the buttons to adjust the levels in the menus.
Volume
Adjusts the volume level.
Equalizer
Selects pre-set equalizer modes. Highlight the equalizer mode then press OK to enter the EQUALIZER
SETTINGS menu. The equalizer modes are: MOVIE - SPEECH - FLAT - CLASSIC - USER - MUSIC.
Balance
Adjusts the sound level from the left and right speakers.
Headphone
Adjusts the volume level when listening to the TV with headphones. To prevent damaging your hearing
set the volume level low and gradually increase the level until you're happy.
Sound Mode
Selects the sound modes. STEREO - DUAL I - DUAL II.
AVL (Automatic
volume limiting)
AVL will set the sound level so that its the same across all programmes. So when you change channels
the sound level won't change. Set AVL to ON or OFF.
You will also find more options when Dolby Audio is set to SMART, MOVIE, MUSIC or NEWS. You will
also be able to select NORMAL, NIGHT or AUTO in AVL options. NORMAL is the same as it just being
switched ON with Dolby Audio in the OFF positon. Night will reduce the audio levels slightly so not to
disturb people at night. AUTO will set the audio levels depending on the time of day. Between 10pm
and 7am it will switch to the NIGHT level which is a lower level.
Headphone/
lineout
Changes output between Headphone and lineout. Choose 'Headphone' when connecting headphones
and 'Lineout' when connecting an audio device to your Headphone socket.
Dynamic Bass
Switches Dynamic bass ON and OFF.
Dolby Audio
Dolby Audio has preset sound settings. The default setting is SMART. The setting are SMART - MOVIE -
MUSIC - NEWS and OFF. They are designed to give you the best sound quality for the content that you
are viewing. If you select SMART this will automatically detect the content you're watching and adjust
the audio settings accordingly.
Selecting SMART, MOVIE or NEWS will enable you to also select more options in AVL. You'll be able to
select NORMAL, NIGHT and AUTO in the AVL menu.
DTS TruSurround Surround Sound can be switched ON or OFF. When switched on you will hear a more spacious sound, to
make you feel more immersed in the action on your TV.
If Dolby Audio is switched on, DTS TruSurround will be automatically switched off and not selectable in
the menu.
DTS DRC
Dynamic Range Control adjusts the audio of the source to maintain suitable audible range at both low
and high levels. Enable or disable the DTS DRC by setting to On or Off.
Sound Output
Select between TV, HDMI ARC and S/PDIF. If you have a soundbar connected to your TV change the
output to either HDMI ARC if connected by a HDMI cable or S/PDIF if connected by an optical cable.
Digital Out
Sets the digital audio out type to PCM or COMPRESSED.
4. Press the BACK button to return to the previous menu.
5. Press the EXIT button to exit the menu.
