Super VHS (S-VHS), S-VHS ET and VHS

Your VCR can record in S-VHS, S-VHS ET or VHS.

To record in S-VHS:

Perform the steps below to set 

S-VHS

 to 

ON

. Then, insert a cassette marked ‘S-VHS’, the S-VHS

indicator will light on the display panel. The S-VHS recording mode will be selected.

To record in S-VHS ET on a VHS cassette:

See ‘Super VHS ET (S-VHS ET)’ on page 32.

To record in VHS:

Insert a cassette marked ‘VHS’. Press S-VHS ET on the VCR. You can check the current setting
(“S-VHS ET: ON” or “S-VHS ET: OFF”). If “S-VHS ET: ON” appears on the TV screen press S-
VHS ET again in about 5 seconds to set it to “OFF”. The VHS recording mode will be automati-
cally selected regardless of the S-VHS mode setting.

To record in VHS on an S-VHS cassette:

Insert the cassette marked ‘S-VHS’, the S-VHS indicator will light on the display panel. Then,
