17. Repeat Steps 15 and 16 twice.
18. Empty the vessel and reposition under the height-adjust-
able coffee spout.
Rinsing after decalcification
19. Rinse the tank thoroughly, refill with fresh water from the
mains supply and replace.
20. Turn the main switch ( ) on and heat approx. 200 ml of
water.
21. Turn the tapping switch off and wait until the heating
control lamp ( ) goes out.

25. Unlock the twist-lever, and pull up. Then turn the cover
back into its initial position (Fig. 6).

the contents of the tank.

«Coffee position» (

29. Drain the residual water tray and the grounds container
and replace.
30. Fill the water tank with fresh water from the mains supply

11. Replacing the filter cartridge

Swing the cartridge retaining clip up and fit the filter
cartridge into the water tank, exerting light pressure only.

Swing the cartridge retaining clip back down, until it can be
heard clicking into position.

The cartridge retaining clip is equipped with a special rotat-
ing disc to allow the date to be set for changing the cart-
ridge (2 months from date of fitting).

NB: Filter cartridges are available from your local Jura dealer.
12. Disposal
You should return your coffee machine to a dealer, service
centre or the Jura company for correct disposal.
13. Trouble-shooting
“Empty grounds” (
) warning lamp lights up:
–> Coffee grounds container is full
–> Coffee grounds container is missing
–> Residual water container has not been fitted correctly
No espresso/coffee comes out
–> Water tank has not been fitted correctly
–> Water tank is empty
–> Crank handle not correctly lowered for brewing
–> Cover is dirty (see section 9.3 “Cleaning cover”).
–> Machine is furred up
–> Coffee ground too finely
Difficult to lower crank handle or to rotate the cover
–> Follow the instructions in section 9.3 “Cleaning cover”.
