3. Set the selector switch to the «Coffee» position (Fig. 4).
4. Switch the pump on (Fig. 4), let approx. 100 ml run out
through coffee outlet and switch the pump off again. Wait
for 2 minutes.
5. Repeat step 4 five times.
6. Turn the cover to the cleaning position and remove
(Fig. 9). Rinse well.
7. Turn on the pump switch. Switch off again after 1 minute.
8. Clean the top with a brush or a damp cloth (Fig. 11).
9. Fit the cover and turn into the coffee-brewing position.
Then lower the lever twice with the release lever pulled
out (Fig. 3) and lift again (Fig. 5).
10. Turn the cover to the filling position.
11. Empty the containers for residual water and coffee
grounds and replace.
10. Descaling
To keep your machine functioning correctly, it must be
periodically descaled. How often this must be done depends
on the hardness of the water. You can find out how hard your
water is by asking the local water board. In the case of hard
water (approx. 20° dH), we recommend that you descale the
machine every three months. For decalcification purposes
we recommend use of the Jura decalcifying tablet. These are
available from your local dealer.
Note:
The machine must be descaled if there is a notice-
able reduction in coffee flow and/or the tempera-
ture of the coffee decreases.
Important: The Jura decalcifying tablet was specially designed
for Jura devices and in particular for the decalci-
fication cycle. You can therefore be sure of opti-
mum results.
10.1 Decalcification process
Preparation for decalcification
1. Switch the appliance off and allow to cool for approx. 1
hour if it has been in recent use.
2. Drain the residual water tray and the grounds container
and replace.

4. Pull the release lever and push down the twist-lever,
exerting moderate force until it can be felt to reach the
end of its travel (Fig. 3).
5. Pour 0.7 litres of water into a container and completely
dissolve the contents of a blister pack (2 tablets).
6. Now pour this solution into the water tank.
7. Position a vessel of the required capacity under the swivel-
ling water and steam outlet spout.
Procedure
8. Set the selector to the «Water position» (
) position.
9. Turn the tapping switch (
) on.
10. Turn the main switch ( ) on and draw off approx. 125 ml
(1 large cup) from the contents of the tank.
11. Turn the main switch ( ) off and allow the decalcifying
solution to work for approx. 10 minutes.
12. Repeat Steps 10 and 11.
13. Empty the vessel and reposition under the height-adjust-
able coffee spout.
14. Set the selector to the «Coffee position» (
) position.
15. Turn the main switch ( ) on and draw off approx. 150 ml
of the contents of the tank.
16. Turn the main switch ( ) off and allow the decalcifying
solution to work for approx. 10 minutes.
