WLAN Access Point · Command Reference
• Common configuration – Advanced Settings
Overwrite MAC address
-
Some programs or network configurations require a specific MAC address in the
adapter. At this point, an adaptation can be made directly in the WLAN Access
Point.
Overwrite MTU value
-
The Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) describes the maximum size of the user
data that can be transmitted in a single data packet. For DSL connections made via
PPPoE (Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet), the max. MTU is e.g. 1.492 bytes.
The internet provider can reduce the MTU by using additional protocols.
Use gateway metrics
-
For manual gateway metric setting e.g. the PC network adapter, this can also be
adapted here.
IPTV mode (IGMP snooping)
-
Version 3 of the IGMP snooping protocol is used or automatically switched to the
lower version of a remote site (router, switch, etc.). This issue can help with prob-
lems with IP / video streaming.
• DHP server – General Setup
If the DHCP server is enabled, the WLAN Access Point assumes the IP address assignment
within the network according to the configuration – e.g. in training networks without their own
router, which are only used occasionally.
•
Click on the command field
Configure DHCP server
to make the necessary
settings.
• DHCP server - General setup
Ignore interface
-
DHCP server will be turned off.
Start
-
The first IP address in the automatically assigned area. If the device has the IP
address 192.168.0.x, the first automatic address is 192.168.0.100.
Limit
-
Maximum number of IP addresses that can be assigned via the DHCP server.
Running time
-
The time for which the assigned IP address is stored.
