SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the Operating Instructions carefully before use!
Transformer
Do not connect light fittings directly to the mains power supply.
The transformer supplied must be used for connection to the mains power supply.
Do not overload the transformer. Do not attempt to connect any other lighting to the mains supply
together with this equipment via the transformer.
Do not connect the transformer to a socket until all installation is complete.
Do not attempt to modify the transformer or anything connected to it. Modifications of this type
jeopardise the safety approval of the product and can make the product unsafe to use.
Note that the transformer has double insulation, which means an earth connection is not required. The
wires in the power cord must not therefore be connected to an earth point. The wires in the power cord
are colour-coded as follows:
BLUE = NEUTRAL
BROWN = LIVE
As the colours of the wires in the power cord may differ from those in the new plug, proceed as follows:
Connect the
blue
wire to the terminal screw marked
N
or coloured
black
.
Connect the
brown
wire to the terminal screw marked
L
or coloured
red
.
ASSEMBLY
Unpack all the parts. Check that you have all the parts as listed below. Contact your dealer if any part is
damaged or missing.
6 x diffusers
6 x bulb supports
6 x covers
6 x ground spikes
6 x middle and 6 x lower rings
6 x 7 Watt 12 Volt light bulbs (including one spare bulb)
6 x lamp holders and sockets
1 x 50VA outdoor transformer
6 x lamp housing
10 metre low voltage cable
Place the transformer near an appropriate power outlet that is indoors, in a garden shed or garage. Place
the transformer where no one can trip over it, or where it otherwise could become damaged or pose a
safety hazard. Do not connect the transformer yet. The low voltage cable must be disconnected.
Position the light fixtures in the required location and run the low voltage cable between them. Use a loop
of at least 60 cm for the connection to each lamp, but make sure there is enough cable left to reach back
to the transformer.
Note: these lamps are designed for installation in loose soil or similar material. This must be taken into
account when planning the installation.
Do not place the power cable where it can be damaged by a lawnmower, etc. Damage to the cable can
cause the transformer to short-circuit. The thermal fuse in the transformer then opens and renders the
transformer permanently inoperable.
