OPERATION
Saw installation
WARNING!
Connect the machine to the mains only after the following actions have been carried out and you have
read through the Operating Instructions.
Bench assembly
1.
Undo the bolt at the end of the bench (fig. 2) if it is fitted.
2.
Fig. 4 shows an assembled bench plus locking lever. The parts are fitted in the following order:
Bench - bench mounting nut - locking lever for angle adjustment – spring - locking lever mounting
nut.
3.
Reattach the bolt to the end of the bench.
Mounting the bandsaw on the saw bench
Attach the bandsaw to the workbench using bolts. This increases safety and also reduces
the machine's noise level and vibration.
Saw bench adjustment
NOTE!
The bandsaw must not be connected to the mains supply when changing settings.
1.
Undo the locking lever.
2.
Set the bench to the required angle.
3.
Tighten the locking lever.
Side fence adjustment
The side fence has a quick-action lock (fig. 1). Undo the side fence locking handle and adjust the side
fence
laterally. Tighten the locking handle.
Mitre ruler adjustment
The mitre ruler can be pushed into the grooves on both sides of the bench. The mitre ruler is equipped
with a
graded scale to facilitate angle adjustment.
NOTE!
Remove both the mitre ruler and the side fence from the bench if they are not needed for the job.
REPLACING AND ADJUSTING SAW BLADES
NOTE!
The bandsaw must not be connected to the mains supply when changing the saw blade. Wear
eye protection and gloves when changing saw blades.
Removing the saw blade
1.
Undo the bolt at the end of the bench.
2.
Undo the nuts which hold the side guard in place. Open the side guard.
3.
Undo the mounting screws for the upper blade guide and remove the blade guard.
4.
Lower the upper saw wheel for the bandsaw blade by turning the setting knob for the saw blade
until the saw blade comes loose.
5.
Carefully remove the bandsaw blade.
Installing the saw blade
NOTE!
Make sure that the saw blade is of the same dimension as the one originally fitted.
WARNING!
Wear eye protection and gloves when you unwind the saw blade. A wound-up saw blade is under tension
and can unwind violently.
1.
Placer the saw blade on the upper saw wheel. Check that the teeth of the saw face the right
direction – teeth down. Centre the saw blade and place it between the blade guides.
2.
Set the upper and lower blade guides and press the support roller in the opposite direction to the
saw blade.
