SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the Operating Instructions carefully before use!
The soldering station must not be used to heat liquids (water, electrolyte or other liquids) or to heat
plastic parts (may generate toxic vapours or cause fires).
The safety of the soldering station cannot be guaranteed in the following situations:
-
The soldering station does not work.
-
If there is visible damage such as broken insulation or cracks in the casing of the
soldering station.
- Inappropriate
transportation.
If the soldering station is damaged, it must be disconnected from the mains supply and must not be
used until it has been repaired. The equipment must only be repaired by an authorised service
centre. Consult your dealer. Unauthorised dismantling may cause electric shock and will also void
the warranty.
Check that the mains supply corresponds with the soldering station's rated data.
The soldering station must only be used under specified operating conditions, see Technical data.
The soldering station must not be left unsupervised when in use.
The soldering station must be used/kept out of the reach of children.
Do not use the soldering station in wet conditions or in the vicinity of flammable or explosive
substances.
Vapour is generated during soldering and the work area must therefore be well ventilated.
Soldering must only be carried out on components that are non conductive.
If the soldering station is used for industrial work, applicable safety provisions must be followed.
If the soldering station is moved from a cold to a warm site, the components in the soldering station
will be affected. Wait until the equipment has reached room temperature before using the soldering
station.
The soldering iron reaches temperatures of over 160ºC. Take care not to come into contact with
the soldering iron.
Do not use the soldering station at high temperatures for excessively long periods.
The soldering iron must never be immersed in water to cool it.
Do not place heavy objects on the soldering station.
The soldering station gets very hot when in use. Place the station on a flat, heat resistant surface.
The ventilation openings must not be covered.
Clean the outside of the soldering station using a slightly damp cloth. Do not use sharp detergents,
sprays or solvents. Make sure no liquid enters the soldering station.
If the fuse trips, replace it with an identical fuse; see Technical data. Shut off the soldering station
and disconnect it from the mains supply before replacing a fuse.
