RRS Economizer Controller Quick Start Guide
5
RRS ECONOMIZER CONTROLLER PARAMETER
MENU FUNCTIONS
There are several “conditional” parameters within the menu.
Parameters for temperature, humidity and CO
2
inputs are
only shown in the menu once sensor presence has been
detected. Parameters associated with a function are only
shown in the menu when that function is enabled.
The values of status parameters, binary inputs and binary
outputs update in the menu approximately 5 seconds after
the point of value change. The buffered values in use for con-
trol sequences, rather than the “raw” inputs, are shown in the
menu for analog inputs. Since changes are at a relatively
slow rate, the values for analog outputs shown in the menu
are nearly “real time”.
Set-point parameter settings within the menu, like the
[Damper Min Pos] example
below
, are typically shown as a
numeric value with appropriate limits on the available range.
Configuration parameter settings within the menu are typi-
cally shown as “Yes” / “No”, “Enable” / “Disable”, etc. or as a
list of available selections. The range of available selections
are shown in red text to the right of set-point and configura-
tion parameters listed in the “RRS Economizer Controller
Menu Guide”.
FIGURE 8 -
Selecting A Parameter To Change
From a set-point or configuration parameter, setting change
is initiated by pressing the
(enter) button. The display back-
light will then flash on and off to indicate setting change activ-
ity is in progress.
FIGURE 9 -
Changing A Parameter Value Using The
Up And Down Buttons
With setting change activity in progress, presses of the
(scroll up) button increase the numeric setting or scroll
through the list of available settings, presses of the
(scroll
down) button decrease the numeric setting or scroll through
the list of available settings.
FIGURE 10 -
Completing The Parameter Value
Change
A press of the
(enter) button stores the new setting in the
controller for immediate use and the display back-light will
then stop flashing to indicate setting change activity has
ended.
A press of the esc (cancel) button retains the previous setting
in the controller and the display back-light will then stop flash-
ing to indicate setting change activity has ended.
NOTE:
When making changes to configuration parameter
settings that influence the conditional parameters
shown in the menu section, allow the menu to
refresh by using the esc (cancel) button to navigate
away one or two levels then navigate back to the
menu section.
FIGURE 11 -
Scrolling Of Long Text
Longer text of some parameter values can exceed the side-
scrolling capability of the display. Other than set-point and
configuration parameters, the full text of longer-named
parameter values is viewed and text side-scrolling is slowed
when the
(enter) button is held. (The example shown
above
is the result of a “Variable Frequency Fan” setting
incorrectly selected for the [Exhaust Setup] configuration on
the RRS Economizer Controller)
FUNCTIONS IN THE “UPDATE” SECTION OF THE
RRS ECONOMIZER CONTROLLER PARAMETER
MENU
Several functions in the “Update” section of the parameter
menu use a flash drive (or “thumb drive”) connected to the
controller USB port. If the sequence that follows does not
occur when the flash drive is connected to the USB port, it is
