Switching ON/OFF and selecting the working temperature
To switch ON and select the working temperature:
- Slide the ON/OFF switch (3) to the [ I ]position.
● The temperature display shows the preset
target temperature fora few seconds, followed
by the actual temperature of the soldering tip.
● The working temperature can be set from
200 to 450°C .
- Select the required working temperature either by pressing one of the preset
buttons or by pushing the [ + ] or the [ - ] button for steps of 10 °C up or down.
● You can see on the display when the soldering tip reaches the correct working
temperature.
- To switch OFF: Slide the ON/OFF switch to the [ 0 ] position.
Working temperature
The correct working temperature depends several factors, such as:
● the kind of solder that is used
● the thickness and the size of the workpiece.
● the material and the thermal conductivity of the workpiece
For soldering, we recommend that you start with a rather lower temperature
(max.300 °C) and increase the temperature, if necessary. The correct working
temperature is reached when the solder begins to melt as soon as it comes into
contact with the soldering tip.
- For desoldering, choose a higher temperature (400-450°C), depending on the
thickness of the joint.
Soldering
- The soldering tip must be tinned before soldering. Heat up a new or used
soldering tip that has been cleaned with the cleaning sponge and tin the tip by
